How it started
Twenty years of watching invoices sit
Two decades in B2B sales and lead generation, plus running an agency, means having sent a great many invoices — and having chased a great many of them badly. Not because chasing is hard, but because it is the task that always loses to actual work.
Every tool wanted the keys first
Connect your accounting software. Link your bank. Grant read access. Each request was reasonable on its own, and each one was a window into a business that had no reason to be open. So the tools went unused and the spreadsheets stayed.
What if the tool asked for almost nothing?
Two files instead of two integrations: the invoices you already have, and a statement you export yourself. Slower to set up by about forty seconds a week. In exchange, nothing standing open between the software and your money.
A product built backwards from that
Everything else followed from the constraint. No bank feed meant matching from a file. Matching from a file meant a freshness guard. Minimum data meant a client is a name and a way to reach them. The limitation turned out to be the design.
